INKspired Artists Blog hop #10

It's your Birthday!

Welcome back to another INKspired Artists blog hop!!
This is hop #10... OMG that has gone quick!!

If you are a seasoned hopper you should have hopped in from Janelle Taylor's blog

Well my craftroom is still looking the same here unfortunately and I am not feeling 100% so heading to Lou Lou's to invade her space again was not an option SO I had to make do with what I have scattered around the house... and when I mean scattered I mean SCATTERED EVERYWHERE!
....Sigh...
I WILL have a craftroom.... soon... very soon...

ANYWAY.... This is sketch 10 and I was kinda excited about it... I know the star could be swapped with anything you liked but I wanted to use it coz it's my sister's birthday on Australia Day so the star would work well,
being Australia Day and all :)

Now to figure out what to make... that was harder than I thought!
As I searched for all my materials I came across a goodie pack Louise Sharp gave us at one of her technique classes, The Bokeh technique, so I thought I should try and attempt it again. I definitely need more practice as I could only use half of the sheet (the paper was too wet on one side)

as you can see above the left side was all spotty and the right side was perfect :/
After I finished the card I thought I probably should have done it in more patriotic colours
1. Coz its her birthday on Australia Day and 2. It would have suited her better :/

Yes I thought of this after I was done and it was my last piece of watercolour paper :/ Bugger!

It's your Birthday 2.0

Lol... I couldn't help myself! After I had finished blogging this card I had a call from Lou Lou needing something for her card so went over to her place and borrowed some watercolour paper so I could fix my colours! It was bugging me that the card was too 'pretty' for my sister (not an insult, it just wasn't going to suit her personality)
Soooo I made another card :)

Patriotic AND it totally suits my sister more!!

Happy Australia Day!
and Happy Birthday to my sister Nadine xoxo

Next up is the fabulous Lisa Eaton!

Until next time :)

INKspired Artists Blog Hop #9

Hi Again!
It's been a while!
Welcome back hoppers! If you have hopped in from Janelle's blog you are in the right place!
I hope everyone had a great Christmas and New Year!
I feel I still have a Christmas hangover :)

Leading up to Christmas we had (and still have) major renovations going on so we have had a lot of sleepless nights painting walls and ceilings etc so I missed the last hop... The mad rush to get everything ready was due to us hosting Christmas celebrations at our house! Also we had to accommodate a full house with my sister and her family visiting from Townsville and friends from NZ here to enjoy the Sydney sunshine and to tinker on cars.
So I was going to miss this hop too as we are still playing host and my new craft room (instead of being completed) has turned into a storage room of paint, building materials and tools till we get back into it.
Current craft room state :(
But... I couldn't miss out again so it was Lou Lou to the rescue and I got to raid her craft room YAY!!

This is hop #9!!

Sitting in Lou Lou's craft room I couldn't think of a card to make :( My mind was blank... I didn't know what kind of card to make?!? I missed out on making a card for my dear hubby's birthday the other day and I really wanted to make up for it... All my handmade stamps are packed away so my Kombi stamps were out of action
AAAAHHHHHHH what to do?!?
I started out by picking out the Striped Grosgrain Ribbon in Bermuda Bay and this was the start of my colour base for the card. I spied out the new happy heart textured embossing folder which I HAD to use too!!

The Just sayin' stamp set was mixed up a bit as I used two stamps... the 'love ya' stamp is in an oval bubble but I wanted to use the rectangular bubble framelit instead (I had to make it difficult)

The last thing I added was the buttons... It was a should I or shouldn't I moment... Decisions?? Decisions?!? Executive decision was made by Lou Lou and three were added :)

It's not a very masculine card that I would normally make him but it shows how much I love him.

I hope you love my card! I am so happy I joined in again! I will be even happier when I have a craft room too where I can de-stress more!!

Next up is the fabulous Lisa Eaton I hope you enjoy the latest hop and see you all again next time!!
