INKspired Blog Hop #INK021 - Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Jonathan!

 Welcome back bloggers!

You are tuning in again for another edition of the INKspired Blog hop.
This time you would have hopped in from Barbara Williams :)
I am sure once again she has created something wonderful!

Sketch #INK021

So my handsome Nephew Jonathan is turning 8 today!
I don't do Boy themed cards all too often so this gave me the chance to test out the new No Bones About It Stamp set!

Can I just say I am a huge fan! It's such a fun stamp set with endless combinations!

The colours used were Sahara Sand, Cucumber Crush and Basic Black... Not a colour combo that I am used to either but I am liking it! LOTS!!

The Stamp-a-ma-jig was an essential tool for this card to get a crisp colour with the photopolymer... I would have be lost without it!

The bones stamp was embossed in white to create a boney texture :)
and it made it look like an X-Ray tag over the top of the Dinosaur... Loving it!

I used the Cherry on top DSP paper stack for the background layer.
This DSP paper stack is so versatile... So far since I bought it I have had it out for every project I have done recently!

I had fun making this card... I always struggle to create a nice 'Boy' card... but having 3 boys in the house now I think I will need to start thinking of more for the near future!!

I wish my (not so little) Nephew Jonathan has a wonderful birthday and we are happy this year you are back in Sydney with your family to celebrate it with us! We have missed too many already!

Super excited for you all as next up is the very talented and creative Louise Sharp! My beautiful bestie!!

Until next time xx

INKspired Blog hop #20 - Butterflies

Happy Birthday Lou Lou!!

Hi Bloggers

Welcome back to the 20th Anniversary INKspired blog hop!!

You would have just hopped in from Barbara Williams and I am certain it was a very awesome card!

Here is this week's sketch #INK020
(I am loving this sketch!)

So the pressure is on for an extra special card being the 20th blog hop and all!
The sketch this week I was very excited about as it suits a trifold card creation...YAY! I have done a trifold card before and to this day it is still a very popular card on Pinterest :)

My Bestie Lou Lou aka Louise Sharp celebrated her birthday at the end of June and circumstances happened where I couldn't access my craftroom to create a card :( and there was no way I was buying a card to give her... Come on it's The Louise Sharp SU Queen!! Lol.

So it was mission clean out craftroom!
Create a card fitting for Lou Lou :)
Blog it...
all with the craziness of school holidays activities!!!

Here is my creation!

I think Lou Lou will love it?!? She better lol!!

I have had the Butterflies Thinlits Dies for a while now but never used them!! It took a few goes to get it right so it cuts first go but I have got the technique right now
You need to have your cardstock down, grease paper, the framelit, then another piece of scrap cardstock on top and VoilĂ !!

Next up is the very talented Lisa Eaton! I am sure her creation this week is stunning!

Until next time xo

P.S Everyone likes free stuff!! Comment on all blogs in this hop and you will go in the draw to win the Pretty Thankful stamp set :)

INKspired Blog Hop #16 - Happy Birthday

Hi Bloggers

Welcome to the 16th INKspired Blog hop!
You would have just hopped in from Cherie Davies

Here is this week's sketch #16

I have been running around like a loon to get ready for Hawaii on Sunday that I nearly forgot to do this week's hop, but I couldn't miss out!

So this one was a really quick card for a special little man turning 10!
Happy Birthday James!
The Piirlaid's love you! You are a special little guy that we love to hang around with!

We are fresh from the SU convention and one of our little attendee gifts was the Bohemian DSP... I matched it up with Basic Gray, Smoky Slate and Real red to create this cool boy's card fitting for Jamesy :)

I used the leaves stamp from the Sheltering tree stamp set to make the background behind the banner.

Next up is the fabulous Lisa Eaton! She is sure to INKspire!

Until Next Time...
Aloha!!

OMG I am going to HAWAII!!!!!

SU Convention 2015 - Swap Card Undefined Cockatoo

Be Bold, Ruffle some feathers

Yay!! It's Convention!

A few milestones today

This is my first Convention...
and my first SWAP CARD!!

My beautiful upline... and my Best Friend Louise Sharp gave me a few pointers about creating my swap card.

Firstly... She said that you will get TONNES!!

Secondly...
In order for your one to stand out from the crowd it needs to...

Be bold and stand out :)
and
Make something that is your signature!

So what is my signature?? I would say my knack for carving stamps would be my signature!

This is something that I love to do and I am finding more and more things to create and I am hooked!

This is my creation and I hope you love it as much as I do!

I love making cards but creating an Undefined Stamp makes your card just that little bit more personal :)

Unfortunately the undefined stamp carving kit is on the SU's latest retirement list :( so if you still want to carve your own creation you better order it soon before it sells out!

Until Next time

INKspired blog hop - The Undefined Hummingbird

The Undefined Hummingbird

Hi Hoppers!
Welcome back to another INKspired Artists Blog hop!
You would have hopped in from Cherie Davies and I have had a sneak peak at her card this hop and I love it!!

I hope you all had a great Easter... A friend told me all the chocolate consumed during Easter are Calorie Free (I wish that were true)

Over the Easter break I have spent a lot of time in my craft room!
I created another Undefined Stamp... A hummingbird!

I had found a picture of a hummingbird stamp on Pinterest by Andrea Lauren that I fell in love with and had to make one of my own!

After creating the stamp I started to look for colours to use...
I was surprised how many different colours Hummingbirds can be!

They truly are a very unique creature!

For my creation this hummingbird was my colour Inspiration!

Here is my creation!

Again instead of doing a card I framed my creation for a present for a very special friend :)

Thanks for stopping by again for another INKspired Blog hop!

I hope you enjoy my creation this week and it inspires you to create your own unique Undefined Stamp of your own!

Trust me you will love it!

I have made a basic tutorial on making this stamp on my Youtube channel!!

Next up is the incredible Lisa Eaton!

Until next time...

INKspired Blog Hop - Bundled Baby

A New Addition - Bundled Baby

Hi Bloggers!

Welcome back to the 14th INKspired Artists Bog Hop!

This week you would have hopped in from Cherie Davies!
We had a challenging sketch this hop! I had an idea of what I wanted to do but really struggled to get it to look right... So there were lots of different colour combinations that were left on the 'craft room floor'

Here is Sketch 14

And this is my creation!

This hop instead of making a card I created a framed keepsake for our latest addition to the Piirlaid clan, my new Niece...
Jessica Margaret Piirlaid

I initially set out to make a card but as I progressed I had the idea to make something that could be used in her room.

As I created the 'recipe' for this I realised just how much went into making this! Many layers, many techniques, lots of product, fussy cutting etc!
I am exhausted just thinking about it!

Here is just a snippet of what I did...

Colour combination - Melon Mambo, Blushing Bride and Basic Black.
The 'bundled baby' was stamped on watercolour paper with StazOn and was coloured using the stampin' write markers and blender pens... This way of colouring is new to me as I am used to my Blendies (which are now discontinued) So this is my first attempt at colouring this way!

The background 'Irresistibly yours Speciality DSP' is from the Sale-a-brations freebies and was sponged with Blushing bride.

I layered the banners, the 'J' and the Sweetheart punch with Blushing Bride and Melon mambo to create a shadowed effect to make the colours pop out more!

I love the end result and I hope Jessica will too!

I also added my latest Undefined stamp to sign the back of this keepsake :)
What's a better way to sign then with your own personalised family portrait!
The Undefined Piirlaid's!

Next up is the the fabulous Lisa Eaton! I love seeing what she has created each hop! I am sure she will impress this round too!

Until next time... Happy Hopping!!
