INKspired Blog Hop #INK029 - My Dear Grandma

Hi Bloggers

If you're a new hopper or you're back again, Welcome :)
You have just hopped in from Maree McIntosh.

Now I will get right into the card I made today... I should say one of MANY cards today!! I don't know why I had such a hard time with this layout?!?! My craftroom is a DISASTER now :(

The sketch looks pretty simply RIGHT?!?! I have no idea why it had me in such a pickle???

Maybe the problem lies in who the card is for??? As this card is for a very special person in my life... My Grandma... and her card needed to be special!
She might think its not true but she has a very special place in my heart and even though I don't talk to her every day or some times not every week I think about her all the time. When we talk on the phone I don't want to be at work with distractions around or in my car with the kids chatting in the background... I want to be at home on the lounge with a cuppa in my hand and chatting to her for as long as I like with no worries, but life as I know it right now is complete CHAOS :(

So today is my Grandma's 81st Birthday! 81 years young :)
To celebrate I wanted to make her a card that was bold like she is, bright coz she still has her wits about her ;) and it had to be original coz she definitely one of a kind!

To my Dear Grandma
Happy Birthday!
You may think that I don't have time for you in my life but my life wouldn't be the same without you.
I love you
xo

Next you are hopping to Louise Sharp who is down at the SU On Stage in Melbourne! I hope she and her 'Flock' lol as she calls them are having a great time!

Until next time
Happy hopping :)

INKspired Blog Hop #25 - Happy Birthday!

Well today is a very special Blog Hop!
It is the INKspired Artist's 1st Birthday!!!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY HOPPERS!!!!!

So today you would have hopped in from very talented Barbara Williams... make sure you continue to hop all the way around as I am sure this hop there will be some super special creations on show!!

Doesn't seem like a year has passed since we started! The time just flies by when your having fun!

Due to this being our one year birthday we had the task this week to create a Celebration, Birthday or Party theme for our creation.

And to go with this theme the sketch this week was another awesome design by Teneale! Although I didn't have a certain someone to give this card to... yet, I had an idea in my mind on what I wanted to create :)

I have been itching to get my hands on the Project Life Let's Get Away stamp set for a while now and I had to raid Lou Lou's craftroom to use it!!
I needed to use the little beetle in it!
It is SO cute!!!
Especially cute with Crystal Effects added too!

I mainly used the 2015-2017 In-colours and the Cherry on top DSP has made another appearance too lol (this DSP is a MUST in your inventory!!)
The little sentiment stamp is from the Honeycomb Hello stamp set and they matched perfectly with the little beetles.
Finished off with some embellishments and you have a seriously cute HB card!

I hope my card and the others in this hop has inkspired you to make your own creation with this sketch!

Nearly forgot to mention...
To add to the Happy Birthday celebration Teneale has a prize for a someone who comments on everyone's blog so don't forget to add your comments :)

Next up is Lisa Eaton I bet she has another show stopper!

My inspiration for this card was
My Lady!

For those who don't already know I am a mad VW owner! I have the 'Lady' Beetle... a beautiful 1956 VW oval window Beetle. For the past couple of weeks she has been my daily driver!
59 years old and she has been coping well going from the occasional Sunday drive to the chaos of the dash to and from school, the rush to work and home madness and the craziness of after school activities!
I have had lots of fun driving her around but this week sees my new car arrive and the Lady will get a deserving rest, she will get a little tidy up and will come out to shine at the next VW show.

Until next time

This Week's Sketch #INK023

This week I got to play around with some new product!
The Boy and Girl 'Skating by' and 'Hey Girl' stamp sets had been on my wish list for a long time now and with all the birthdays around this time of year I decided to make the purchase and I am glad I did!

Using an Aqua Painters & my Stampin' Write markers I coloured in the boy stamp on watercolour cardstock.
I layered using some Basic Black and Cucumber Crush CS and mounted it on Night of Navy CS embossed with the Brick Wall embossing folder :)

For the sentiment I used my stampin' write markers and coloured each letter. The stamp used was the  'Birthday Boy' from 'Hooray It's Your Day' stamp set, on a small layered banner.

I hope you like my creation this week! I had fun watercolouring this will definitely have fun making more creations with this stamp set :)

As usual you can hop on to the next blog using the next button below and head on over to Lisa Eaton's creation :)
Be sure to hop all the way around and see what we all have created!

Until next time

INKspired Blog Hop #INK022 - Cherry On Top

Happy Birthday to my beautiful Princess!

Welcome back to another INKspired blog hop! If you are starting from here be sure to hop all the way around... If you have just hopped in from Barbara Williams welcome to my blog and my creation this week :)

This hop is a special one for my little princess... It's her birthday next week and I have used this sketch for her invitations :)

I kept it simple mainly using the new
In-colours, Brights and the Cherry on Top DSP paper stack which I absolutely love and seem to be using it for every creation lately :)

The embellishment was made with the Cotton Paper Assortment paper. I used two punched flowers out of the Itty Bitty Accents Punch pack and finished off with some Brights Candy Dots. Easy peezy :)

Up next is the very talented Lisa Eaton!! Click the Next button below and hop all the way around and see all of the the amazing creations using this sketch! It will definitely INKspire you for your next creation :)

Until next time xx

INKspired Blog Hop #INK021 - Happy Birthday

Happy Birthday Jonathan!

 Welcome back bloggers!

You are tuning in again for another edition of the INKspired Blog hop.
This time you would have hopped in from Barbara Williams :)
I am sure once again she has created something wonderful!

Sketch #INK021

So my handsome Nephew Jonathan is turning 8 today!
I don't do Boy themed cards all too often so this gave me the chance to test out the new No Bones About It Stamp set!

Can I just say I am a huge fan! It's such a fun stamp set with endless combinations!

The colours used were Sahara Sand, Cucumber Crush and Basic Black... Not a colour combo that I am used to either but I am liking it! LOTS!!

The Stamp-a-ma-jig was an essential tool for this card to get a crisp colour with the photopolymer... I would have be lost without it!

The bones stamp was embossed in white to create a boney texture :)
and it made it look like an X-Ray tag over the top of the Dinosaur... Loving it!

I used the Cherry on top DSP paper stack for the background layer.
This DSP paper stack is so versatile... So far since I bought it I have had it out for every project I have done recently!

I had fun making this card... I always struggle to create a nice 'Boy' card... but having 3 boys in the house now I think I will need to start thinking of more for the near future!!

I wish my (not so little) Nephew Jonathan has a wonderful birthday and we are happy this year you are back in Sydney with your family to celebrate it with us! We have missed too many already!

Super excited for you all as next up is the very talented and creative Louise Sharp! My beautiful bestie!!

Until next time xx

INKspired Blog Hop - Stippled Blossoms

Another very happy 80th Birthday!

Hi Bloggers and welcome back hoppers! You would have hopped in this week from Cherie Davies who like me has been busy renovating her craft room!

I am joining you this hop from the Beautiful Whitianga NZ to celebrate my Husband's Grandmother's 80th Birthday!
I know I have got it rough!

So I had to be a little more organised this hop lol... BUT this card had to be finished BEFORE I started packing... NO card NO holiday lol!

I spent all of Wednesday night creating this card. Then Thursday morning I finished it off with a matching envelope, so the packing started two hours before we were due to leave!
I had to get my priorities right!

This was another very special card for a very special lady who is very dear to me...
Granny Helen.

I have known Helen for almost 18 years. The very first time I met Helen was the night of my own Nanna's funeral so I was very emotional that day but meeting Helen and her husband Don that night was very comforting and I will cherish that day for the rest of my life.

Now to the card, I was looking forward to this card as I had a great idea in mind and the sketch this hop worked out to be perfect... a Tri Fold card!

Helen's home in NZ is surrounded with a beautiful garden which is always in bloom, which was the inspiration for this card.
The Stippled Blossom stamp set is a set that I bought a while back but hadn't used it yet, it was waiting for a special card.

To get this stamp right you really need a
stamp-a-ma-jig!
You just cannot eyeball it... I tried... Many times!
Once I got the hang of it I couldn't stop!

Colours used were Blushing Bride, Rose Red & Crumb Cake.
I used the DSP from the Colour Selections paper stack and used the Venetian Crochet Trim (which was brand new hiding in my ribbon drawer)

The tri fold design was just dividing an A4 sheet into 8ths and scoring the 1/8th mark and 5/8th mark then I added a 2 inch (or 6cm) piece of crumb cake to overlap.

Here is the inside... Mikki's first comment (before I had finished was that the inside was plain... So I had to fix that :)

Thanks for stopping by again! Next up is the very talented Lissa I am looking forward to seeing her creation!

Until next time...

Kabrina xx

P.S. Not forgetting to mention....
HAPPY BIRTHDAY HELEN!
We are so happy to be here in NZ celebrating this milestone with you!
